Sublimated Seamless Gaiters

The standard gaiter is a knitted polyester tube, and the two things that decide whether it gets worn are the seam and the edge. A stitched side seam sits on the throat and is felt every time the head turns; a seamless tube has nothing there at all.

The edges matter almost as much. A laser-cut edge on knitted polyester seals as it cuts, so it will not fray or roll into a tight cord after a few washes — which is what a scissor-cut gaiter does.

Print is dye-sublimation, which puts the colour into the fibre rather than on top of it. That means the pattern wraps the entire tube with no join, does not crack, and does not stiffen the fabric where the ink sits.

Why does a seam matter?

Will the print fade?
